-le grand mât de perroquet est au milieu du mât du milieu (grand-mât),

-le petit mât de perroquet est au milieu du mât de l'avant (mât de misaine).

To locate the various places indicated by Bourdé, one should know that:

- the flag staff, ensign staff and the stern are with the back of the ship,

- the mizzen yard is a round and long piece of timber crossing the mast, which is attached to a pulley (or block), to support the sail on the after-most mast (mizzenmast),

- the mizzen topgallant mast is in the middle of the mizzen mast,- the main topgallant mast is in the middle of the main mast, which isthe central mast (largest mast),

- the fore topgallant mast is in the middle of the fore-most mast (foremast).
